His style, influenced by John Singer Sargent, Jean-Auguste Ingres and Salvador Dali are executed in charcoal, pencil or pastel. Capturing his subjects in a truthful and straight-forward style, Johnson's work has constantly exceeded his client's expectations and thus his work is featured in many private and corporate collections. A self-taught artist, Johnson begins the process by getting acquainted with his subjects by taking a series of photographs. Portraits are then drawn in his studio, which has the capability to produce both small and large format pieces. Finished products are then shipped or hand delivered when completed.
